 Dear friends at Kimura Dojo,
When I participated in the natsu koshukai in Gothenburg/Sweden I was told there was a guest book on your home page and now, at last, I have located it. As you may guess I am not good enough at nihon-go to communicate in your language, but I hope I will get there eventually.
First let me express some of my gratitude for being able to share the great experience of the natsu koshukai in August. Special thanks to Kimura-sensei of course, for spending all that time with us, sharing the deep knowledge of iaido. Very inspiring and interesting. Also, thanks to Jonathan and his friends, who arranged the koshukai and taikai. Splendid job! And least, but not last, thanks to my family for letting me execute my passion for iaido, a passion which they do not entirely share nor quite understand...
Second, a brief presentation of myself: I am a 41 years old male who discovered the existance of the fine art of iaido some nineteen years ago, as tought by Komaki-sensei. Since then I have reached the level of yondan and have, among other great experiences, had the honour to represent Sweden twice in European championships. In my everyday life I have a couple of fellow iaido-kas in my small hometown outside Stockholm and we get together and practise once a week.
I believe one of the greatest lessons learned from iaido is that there is no end to the depth and details to which you can try to bring your practise.
I look forward to get to know some of you better and of course to practise more with Kimura-sensei.
All the best, Sven (no Hoki Ryu)

 Hello Sven-san,
My name is Akira Ideta from Kimura-dojyo. Thank you for your email, which let us know that you participated in natsu koshukai and you have a great passion towards Iai-do. Your Ryu-ha is 「夢想神伝流」, am I correct?
It is marvelous that you represented Sweden twice in European championships since you first got to know Iai-do and met komaki-sensei 19 years ago.
I began to learn Iai-do when I was 52 years old. It's been 6 years now since I started, but I am still at the threshold. It is important to improve your iai-do skills by practice, but that's not the goal, as you already know. I feel that the ultimate goal of Iai-do is to discipline and better our minds through learning.
I am really happy to know that Iai-do, which is one of kobu-dos in Japan, has bloomed in such far a country like Sweden. And as a Japanese learning Kobu-do, I am feeling respect towards you, who have deep thoughts to Iai-do and keep learning it earnestly and passionately. Please keep it up cherishing the spirit of Iai-do.
I have met Komaki-sensei at Kimura do-jyo before even though I was not able to have a chance to talk with him much. Please give my best regards to him. I will of course tell Kimura-sensei about your message in this guest book. I am sure he will be pleased with it. It would be great if you could let us know how you are doing once in a while here. Let's keep in touch. Best Regards, Akira Ideta
